December 11, 2025Psalm 126:1–3 (KJV)
“When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
Introduction:
The month of November, the eleventh month, carries deep prophetic significance. The number eleven represents the hour before the day breaks or just before midnight—a time when most people least expect change, yet it determines how the rest of the season unfolds.
The “eleventh hour miracle,” as found in Matthew 20:1–16, refers to that divine intervention that comes just when it seems too late. It is the moment of sudden turnaround, when God releases blessings that arrive unexpectedly; yet perfectly timed.
Whatever name we call it; last-minute miracle, eleventh-hour blessing, or suddenly—they all point to the same truth: God is still in the business of giving pleasant surprises.
Why God Delights in Pleasant Surprises
God specializes in stepping in at the last moment because He wants us to end well, not in disappointment or shame. He often shows up when we have exhausted our strength, reminding us that He never forgets His own.
When Peter was imprisoned (Acts 12:5–16), the church prayed earnestly, yet neither Peter nor the praying believers knew when or how God would act. When deliverance finally came, it was so sudden and unbelievable that they thought it was a dream.
That’s what divine surprises look like; unexplainable but undeniable.
“He hath made everything beautiful in His time.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
What Are Pleasant Surprises?
A pleasant surprise is when God fulfills an expectation at an unexpected time or through unexpected means.
“When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.” – Psalm 126:1
Zion had prayed and waited for deliverance. When it finally came, it was so glorious they could hardly believe it. Sometimes, because of delays, we assume God has forgotten—but He works on a different timeline.
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time… though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come.” – Habakkuk 2:3
Biblical Examples of Pleasant Surprises
- Sarah – The Joy of Unexpected News
(Genesis 18:9–14)
Sarah had long given up on her dream of motherhood. But at the appointed time, God revisited her with joy. That unexpected news birthed laughter in her home.
- The Shunammite Woman – A Promise Beyond Expectation
(2 Kings 4:14–16)
She had stopped hoping for a child, yet the prophetic word came: “According to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son.” Her long-forgotten dream came alive suddenly.
- Moses – Help from an Unexpected Source
(Exodus 2:16–19)
The daughter of Pharaoh, the very king who ordered the death of Hebrew babies, became the instrument of Moses’ rescue and upbringing. God turned an enemy’s house into a shelter of destiny.
This month, help from unexpected sources will locate you!
- The Widow of Zarephath – A Last-Minute Visitation
(1 Kings 17:8–17)
When she was about to eat her last meal and die, God sent Elijah. That divine visitation turned hopelessness into abundance and prolonged her life.
This season, you will receive your eleventh-hour visitation—the encounter that changes everything for good!
How to Experience Pleasant Surprises
- Worship, Praise, and Pray Continually
(Acts 16:25–27)
Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises in prison, and suddenly the prison doors opened. Praise provokes divine intervention.
- Walk in Obedience
The widow of Zarephath and Peter both obeyed divine instructions, and their obedience opened doors to supernatural surprises.
- Have Faith in God’s Word
(2 Chronicles 20:20)
“Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe His prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
- Give Sacrificially
The Shunammite woman created space for the man of God, and God created a miracle for her in return.
- Receive the Anointing
(Acts 1:8, Isaiah 10:27, Acts 10:38)
The anointing breaks yokes and ushers in divine surprises. Without the anointing, effort can lead to frustration. With it, doors open effortlessly.
