The Power in the Name of Jesus
November 4, 2025
Introduction:
Life’s challenges often shout louder than God’s promises. Fear, delay, and disappointment can make us forget who is truly on our side. But when you live with the awareness that God is for you, everything changes. In this post, we’ll explore how your sight, speech, and mindset determine whether you experience the power of God or remain stuck in fear.
Romans 8:31 (KJV):
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Numbers 13:30–33 (KJV):
And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it… [33] And there we saw the giants… and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
Numbers 14:7–9 (KJV):
The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. [8] If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land… [9] Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us… the LORD is with us: fear them not.
Understanding the “If” in Romans 8:31
The phrase “If God be for us, who can be against us?” sounds like a bold declaration but that small word “If” is pregnant with many “IFs”.
It invites you to reflect:
If you know God is on your side, why focus on your enemies’ abilities?
If you believe God is with you, why magnify the negatives?
When God opens your eyes to see, He doesn’t dictate your focus. You choose what to magnify.
Seeing Right: What God Asked Jeremiah
Jeremiah 1:11–12 (ESV):
“Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond branch.” Then the LORD said, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”
God performs what we see and say in alignment with His will.
When Jeremiah saw correctly, God confirmed it and fulfilled His word.
Maybe God is waiting for you to see rightly before He performs His promises in your life.
Change How You Respond:
Stop letting the physical realm dictate your emotions and reactions.
Your response to challenges reveals whether you truly believe that God is with you.
If you know God is for you:
You’ll see victory, not defeat.
You’ll see breakthrough, not stagnation.
You’ll see hope, not despair.
You’ll see possibility, not impossibility.
Prayer 1: Repentance and Renewal
Father, every negative thing I’ve seen, said, or thought that has hindered Your word from being fulfilled in my life; have mercy on me and reverse them.
Renew Your Mind: It’s Your Responsibility
Romans 12:2 (ESV):
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…
God doesn’t renew your mind for you. It is your responsibility to change your mindset – you must intentionally do it.
When your mind is renewed, your eyes will see correctly, and your words will align with faith.
Prayer 2: Taking Control:
Father, by the power of Your Spirit in me, I take control of how I see, what I say, and how I interpret the situations around me and my family.
As You Think, So You Become
Proverbs 23:7:
As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
You become what you think.
The Israelites saw themselves as grasshoppers — and that’s how they lived and died.
Your mindset determines your outcome. Change your thoughts, and you’ll change your results.
Prayer 3: Subduing Negative Thoughts
Father, by Your Spirit, I arrest every contrary thought manipulating my mind, I cast them out now, in Jesus’ name.
If God Is for You — Why Fear?
If you truly believe God is for you, why are you afraid to go forward?
Why accept defeat without a fight?
Why surrender to fear when the Greater One lives inside you?
Daniel 11:32:
They that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.
Those who know God are strong, not fearful.
Prayer 4: Surrender and Divine Intervention
Father, because I know You are with me and for me, I surrender my life, my family, and every situation in my life to You; Let the glory of Your Presence consume everything contrary to Your will in my life.
The Greater One Lives in You
1 John 4:4 (ESV):
You are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
If you know God lives in you, why fear sickness, poison, or evil reports?
The One in you is greater than anything in the world!
Prayer 5: Command Every Stranger to Depart
Father, because You are in me, and my body is Your temple, I command every stranger hiding in my body, home, or children’s life; hear the word of the Lord! Get out now!
Know Who You Are:
1 Corinthians 3:16 (ESV)
Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?
Ignorance of your spiritual identity keeps many believers in bondage.
People remain in bondage not because God isn’t present, but because they don’t know who they are.
Isaiah 5:13 & Hosea 4:6 remind us that God’s people remain in, and perish in captivity for lack of knowledge.
Prayer 6: Enforcing God’s Presence
Father, because my body is Your dwelling place, just as darkness cannot stand the presence of light, let everything that cannot stand Your presence; leave my life, my home, my marriage, and my body now.
Conclusion:
If God be for us, who can be against us?
Victory begins with what you see, what you say, and what you believe.
So today, decide to:
See from God’s perspective.
Speak faith over every circumstance.
Walk boldly knowing that the Almighty God is for you, and no one can stand against you.
When God is for you, nothing can stand in your way. See rightly, speak faith, and walk boldly — victory is yours! #FaithInGod #GodIsForYou #ChristianEncouragement #Romans831
